mi granja

The tostada entry is coming, I promise.

Today, I went on a field trip/excursión with my 1ªs and 2ºs to a farm. After the disaster that was the Córdoba field trip (students throwing up on the bus! A kid getting sick and us being stranded! Two hours shopping at Media Mrkt!) last year, I was a bit worried.

This time, it worked out much better.

The kids were somewhat quiet on the bus and well behaved. On the way to the farm, I saw a rainbow. The monitores took the kids, and us teachers had breakfast. No tostada, but café con leche! Pan! Muffins!

We then took a walk, saw the animals, watched the kids make perfume, played with the dogs (there was a golden retriever), watched Ruleta de suerte (Wheel of Fortune) as the students were eating and occupied by riding horses and the like.

And then there was the teachers lunch.

Wine. (Imagine the scandal in the States if teachers drank wine at a school event! It'd be like a threesome on Gossip Girl.) Jamón. Chorizo. First plate, a choice between pasta and soup. Second plate. Chicken, lamb, lasagne and French fries, or what the Mexicans call fried popes. Dessert was ice cream, a few different types of cake, and a chupito! (Shot).

More playing with the dogs, then a calm bus ride back and another rainbow.

I'm ready for sleep.
